Israeli citizens and Jews are facing threats in many countries of the world. After Sri Lanka, now Israeli citizens in Thailand are facing the threat of attack. According to reports, Thai police have reportedly warned of a terrorist plot at the Full Moon Party on the holiday island of Koh Phangan on November 15.
This warning has come at a time when Israeli tourists in Sri Lanka are being accused of an Iran-backed conspiracy. Although the Netanyahu government has not issued a warning to its citizens to leave Thailand like Sri Lanka, the Prime Minister's Office says that there is no change in the threat level at present.
Last week, Israeli fans were beaten up during a football match in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. About 10 people were injured in the match. Prime Minister Netanyahu had said on this matter that he could not ignore the attacks on Israeli citizens.
Meanwhile, a statement has been issued by Israel's intelligence agency Mossad and the National Security Council (NSC) regarding the threat looming over Israeli citizens in Thailand. It says that for about a month in Thailand, Israeli security services have foiled many incidents with the help of Thai security agencies.
The statement said, 'Iran and its proxy groups have intensified efforts to harm Israeli citizens and Jews around the world since the war began in Gaza on 7 October last year.' The NSC has appealed to Israeli citizens living in Thailand to remain alert and avoid revealing their Israeli or Jewish identity.
Also, stay away from large events that are known to be associated with Israelis. It is also advisable to update information on social media about your travel plans. The National Security Council has asked to contact local security about any suspicious action against Israelis or Jews.
The warning issued by Israel states that this advice is not for any particular spot or city but for all parts of Thailand. Just a few hours before this, a media report by Ynet claimed that the Thai police had warned of a terrorist plot against Israelis in Koh Phangan through some internal documents. Let us tell you that about 10 thousand Israelis may be present in Koh Phangan.
According to the report, the documents specifically warn of targeting the Full Moon Party scheduled for November 15. A large number of Israeli citizens were expected to attend this party. Ynet has quoted a source related to the matter as saying that there are strong indications of harm being done to the Israelis. After this alert, the Thai police started strict checking by placing barriers on the roads in Koh Phangan.
Meanwhile, a big claim has been made in the US on the basis of a criminal complaint. According to this complaint, Afghan citizen Farhad Shakeri, who is accused of being hired by Iran's Revolutionary Guards to kill Donald Trump, has told FBI investigators that he was also assigned the task of planning a 'mass shooting' on Israeli tourists in Arugam Bay, Sri Lanka in the month of October. There are allegations that Shakeri was also asked to kill 2 Jewish industrialists in New York and an Iranian-American journalist who had enmity with Iran.
