Insects Stop Play! Bizarre Scenes In Centurion As India-South Africa Come Off Field For Unprecedented Reason
The third T20I between India and South Africa saw unprecedented scenes on Wednesday (November 13) as play was stopped after the first over in the second innings due to insects. After swarms of flies entered the stadium, the umpires were forced to ask the two teams to walk back to the dressing room after the disturbance became too much for the feilding side and two batters to handle. As soon as the two teams walked out to the field for the second innings, the change in scenery around the ground was visible as insects could be spotted flying around. Local commentators have pointed out that such a situation occurs when rain in around raising fear of more interruptions in the game. Play ultimately resumed after a 20-minute break
South Africa Need 220 To Win Talking about the match, South Africa won the toss and chose to bowl first. A stunning century from Tilak Verma helped India post a huge total of 219 on the board. He became only the second Indian after skipper Suryakumar to hit a six on the first ball of their T20I career. Ramandeep replaced Avesh Khan in the playing XI with the series level at 1-1. Earlier, the first T20I was won by India by a huge margin of 61 runs after a century from Samson.
