On the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, a long-pending demand for salary hikes for committee employees was fulfilled within 24 hours by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, resulting in a 25% increase in their salary and allowances.
In Chhattisgarh, following a decisive action from the Vishnu Sai government, the 6-year demand for increased pay for the employees of the Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society has finally been met. This 25% hike in salary and allowances, impacting around 13,000 employees, led to an immediate end of the employees' strike.
Salary Increase After 6 Years and Formation of Committee for Additional Demands
After a gap since 2018, this hike comes as the first significant increase for cooperative society employees. Alongside this, an inter-departmental committee has been formed to address two additional demands. Departments including Food, Finance, Agriculture, and Marketing Federation are collaborating to review the demands of the Employees Union, with a proposal for their resolution underway.
Efforts to Streamline Paddy Procurement
Following the increase in pay, employees have committed to smooth paddy procurement. They assured that farmers will face no issues in the process, which begins on November 14, 2024, with preparations being completed by November 13. Instructions were given by the Commissioner of Cooperation and Registrar of Cooperative Societies to ensure transparency and efficiency in the procurement process.
