Doctors operated on a 7-year-old boy’s “wrong” eye during surgery, putting a Greater Noida hospital under scrutiny. Although the problem was with his left eye, the boy’s father, Nitin Bhati, said that Anand Spectrum Hospital performed the treatment on his son’s right eye. According to reports, the procedure, which was performed to treat issues with the left eye, cost Rs 45,000.
According to Bhati, Yudhishthir, his son, had first gone to the hospital on November 12 for a check-up because his left eye had been weeping continuously. After examining the patient, the physicians determined that there was a foreign item in the eye and recommended surgery.
After that, the hospital reportedly removed a “metal-like” item during the operation, which was shown to the family on a smartphone picture.
But when Bhati and his wife got home, they discovered that their son’s left eye had not undergone surgery. They went to another eye expert because they were worried, and he verified that the left eye had not had surgery.
Although no FIR has been filed, Bhati has already submitted a complaint, which has been sent to the office of the Chief Medical Officer. “He stole the money from us,” Bhati told TOI.
