Kolkata: For enhancing the transport at the Kolkata Airport, cab aggregator is set to start cab services from Thursday. The inauguration ceremony is scheduled on November 14 by state transport minister Snehashish Chakraborty and transport secretary Saumitra Mohan alongside airport officials. This move will tackle the lack of enough transport options for the passengers. Time and again, the issue had been raised aggressively by the passengers. They say that it is troubling to find a cab to their destination, especially at night.Currently, several cab services are available at the Kolkata Airport. Uber, Ola, Snap E and Yatri Sathi have their own bays and kiosks at the airport, providing cab services to flyers. Meanwhile, there is a cooperative counter named Helpline, which offers you services from other cab aggregators who do not have separate outlets, including InDrive, reported An airport official stated that commuters often complain about facing a shortage of transport, leaving them stranded for hours to reach their destination. He said, “We have made an agreement with Rapido, and they will start their operation from Thursday. It is often that passengers raise the issue of shortage of transport options from the airport, especially at night. With the addition of a new aggregator, there will be some relief to the passengers,” added the media report. In ‘airport service quality surveys,' officials have received negative feedback over the availability of transportation options. Passengers complained that even near the airport premise, it is difficult to find cabs. Apart from that, there are parking issues, which the officials were trying to mitigate by increasing the number of cab services in the premises.
