Cholamu Lake

Cholamu Lake also known as Tso Lhamo is a highly famous and spectacular lake located in the northern region of Sikkim. This lake is situated at an altitude of about 5,330 meters above sea level, making it considered one of the highest districts in the world. Tso Lhamo means monastery lake which reflects its religious importance. Visiting Cholamu Lake is generally restricted for tourists as it is located in the border area and only a few specially permitted persons are allowed to visit it due to security reasons.

Nicobar Islands

Barren Island is a unique and mysterious island of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, which is the only active volcanic site in India. This island is located at some distance from the sea and the volcanic lava here often mixes with the sea water, creating a scene which is very attractive. Barren Island can be seen from a distance but is not allowed to be visited due to security and environmental concerns.

Pangong Tso Lake

Pangong Tso Lake is a beautiful and famous site located on the border of India and China which is famous for its amazing natural beauty. This lake is located in the Ladakh region and attracts tourists due to its characteristics. However, a large part of the lake is under the control of China and access to its upper reaches is restricted for Indians. Despite this, tourists can visit the Indian side of the lake and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere, blue waters and surrounding mountain views.
