‘Need goon tax’… Demanded from e-rickshaw driver in Bhadohi, on refusal looted money

In Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh, miscreants injured a young man by stabbing him. Four unidentified assailants attacked the e-rickshaw driver with a knife in broad daylight and left him half dead for not paying goonda tax for driving an e-rickshaw on the road. They looted the loan money and mobile phone kept with him and ran away. After the incident, the victim was admitted to Maharaja Balwant Singh Hospital where he is undergoing treatment. The police arrived after the information, registered the case and started searching for the attackers.

The matter is said to be of Gangapur Canal near National Inter College under Bhadohi Kotwali area. Four unknown miscreants attacked e-rickshaw driver Neeraj Gautam, a resident of Kushiyara, with a knife and fled away. The miscreants demanded Rs 10 in the name of goonda tax and when they did not give it, they injured Neeraj with a knife. After this, the miscreants also looted Rs 6,000 and mobile phone kept with Neeraj. The victim Neeraj told that his family is living in poverty and now how will his family run, how will the e-rickshaw loan be paid.

On receiving information about the incident, the family members arrived and started screaming after seeing Neeraj bleeding. Doctors told Neeraj's mother Ashrafi Devi that there was no danger to her son and he would soon recover. Neeraj's mother told that the miscreants forcibly took her son to the shore, hit him with a knife and injured him. The miscreants also looted Rs 6,000 and a mobile phone kept with the victim.

Injured youth undergoing treatment

Meanwhile, Doctor VK Maurya of Maharaja Balwant Singh Hospital (MBS) said that a young man named Neeraj Gautam was brought to the hospital in an injured condition by the police and his family members. Which was given proper treatment. The young man was drenched in blood and had knife marks on his body, but there were no serious injuries. After medical examination, report was given to the police and after first aid, Neeraj was sent home.

Bhadohi Sadar Kotwali in-charge Ashwani Tripathi said that a case has been registered against unknown youth on the complaint of family members regarding the incident on the afternoon of 13th November. The condition of the injured youth is fine and the police is searching for unknown attackers, further legal action is underway.
