A Harry Potter TV reboot has been in the works for HBO Max for quite some time. Back in January 2021, reports surfaced that the streaming giant was actively searching for a writer to bring the series to life. The Harry Potter franchise has seen ongoing success with recent ventures, from the Wizarding World theme parks at Universal Studios and the hit stage production The Cursed Child to the Fantastic Beasts spinoffs and the popular video game Hogwarts Legacy. While the making of the HBO series was confirmed, the famous twins of the series, recently revealed their advice to the new actors who will be stepping into their shoes for the TV reboot.
Harry Potter's James, Oliver Phelps' advice to actors stepping into their shoes for TV rebootIn an exclusive chat with Variety, the twins were asked about their thoughts on the upcoming reboot of the Harry Potter series. Oliver shared advice for the new actors who will be roped in to play the role of the Weasley brothers in the TV adaptation. He said, "I think we will always be associated with those characters. Whatever happens in the TV series — which we know as much as anyone else does to be honest with you — I think people will always see us as Fred and George to a point. Obviously, the guys who will go on and take our characters in that adaptation of it, they’ll do their thing and we wish them nothing but the best. Just don’t be as good as us!"
