MP NEWS: Madhya Pradesh's state cyber cell on Thursday busted a gang that used to cheat people like 'Jamtara'. These people used to cheat people by making them invest in the name of Diamond Research Company. The gang used to run a call center in Mandsaur and make people their victims. In this case, the cyber cell has arrested 22 young men and women and recovered 40 mobiles and SIMs.
The state cyber had come to know that a fake call center is being run in Punjabi Colony of Shamgarh in Mandsaur. Dozens of people are being duped every day in the name of investment through ALGO TRADING APP by creating a fake diamond research company from here. This work is being done by two dozen boys and girls working here. On this information, DSP Leena Maroth, Inspector Amit Singh Parihar raided that call center on Thursday with the team of the cell and the force of the police line. The team arrested 4 boys and 17 girls from the call center and seized 30 fake SIMs, 20 Android and 20 Keypad mobiles being used to dupe people.
Those running the fake call center had named their company Diamond Research Company. The young men and women working here used to lure people into doing ALGO TRADING by promising them a profit of 5 to 7 percent per day on an investment of Rs. 10,000. They used to get the cheated money transferred online to fake bank accounts.
State Cyber Cell ADG Yogesh Deshmukh said that for a long time, complaints were received about a call center duping a large number of people through fake calls. On the basis of technical facts, evidence was collected by conducting a recce in Mandsaur for several days. He said that now they are finding out how many people have been duped by the accused so far. By examining the seized mobiles and SIMs, they are finding out where and in which accounts the money defrauded from the people is kept.
Cyber Cell has also issued advisory to avoid online fraud. If you receive a call from an unknown person in the name of investing in share market, first verify it through a reliable source/police, otherwise you can also become a victim of this type of fraud. In case of any such incident, report it to your nearest police station or on cybercrime.gov.in.
