In a shocking incident, children at a government school in Haryana placed a firecracker-like bomb under their science teacher’s chair. The teacher narrowly escaped injury. The education department has taken action and has suspended the accused students.
The incident occurred in Bopara village in Haryana’s Bhiwani. Five days ago, on Saturday, during a 12th-grade class, the children placed a bomb under the teacher’s chair. The teacher narrowly escaped injury when the firecracker-like bomb exploded. One child had allegedly planted the bomb under the chair, while another detonated it remotely.
Education department officials were informed immediately. On Wednesday, the education department team visited the school and took action against the accused students.
District Education Officer Naresh Mehta stated that he had sent the Block Education Officer to the school on the day of the incident and sought an explanation from the principal. Mehta personally visited the school on Wednesday and summoned the entire class and the Gram Panchayat.
Mehta said that 13 out of 15 students in the class were involved in the incident. While one child made the bomb, another placed it under the chair, and a third detonated it, he stated.
Mehta said that while they discussed expelling those involved in the incident, the families apologized for their wards and submitted written apologies. All 13 children present in the class that day were involved in the incident. The teacher forgave the students.
“If these children had made a model and presented it, we would have honoured them, but now this matter has been settled with a warning. These children had learned all this from YouTube," Mehta remarked.
The bomb blast created a hole under the chair. No one was injured in the incident.
