The statement of Congress General Secretary and Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Ahmed Mir in the Jharkhand assembly elections has created a ruckus in the state's politics. Ghulam Ahmed Mir claimed on Thursday that if his party comes to power, all the citizens of the state, whether they are infiltrators or not, will be given gas cylinders for Rs 450. After his statement, the BJP reacted strongly and called Mir's statement anti-national.
At present, domestic LPG cylinders are available in Jharkhand for Rs 860. At the same time, the BJP has made infiltration from Bangladesh a big issue in the assembly elections and is accusing the parties of the India Alliance of promoting infiltration.
Ghulam Ahmed Mir said during the election campaign in Chandrapura of the Bermo assembly constituency that if his government is formed after the elections, then from 1st December, they will provide gas cylinders for Rs. 450. This cylinder will be for all the people of the state. Be it Hindu or Muslim or even an infiltrator. This cylinder will be given to all the citizens living in Jharkhand. No other issue will be considered in giving the cylinder.
Commenting on providing domestic gas cylinders at low prices to the citizens of Jharkhand, BK Hariprasad, senior coordinator of Congress for Jharkhand assembly elections, also said that every person who becomes a voter in Jharkhand is a citizen of the state and they will get full benefit of the guarantee given by Congress. Hariprasad accused the BJP of trying to create fear in the state by raising the issue of infiltration.
Attacking the BJP, he said that if the BJP has proof that there are infiltrators in Jharkhand, then they should give a list of it. The BJP is calling the people of Jharkhand infiltrators. This is an insult to the citizens of the state.
He clearly said that all the people who have lived in Jharkhand are Jharkhandis and calling them infiltrators in any form is an insult to them. The statement of the Congress leader has come at a time when BJP leaders are constantly attacking the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and accusing it of promoting infiltration in the state.
Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has reacted sharply to the statement of the Congress leader. He said that Congress leader Ghulam Ahmed Mir is talking about giving gas cylinders to infiltrators for Rs 450. It is the Congress-RJD-JMM government which is continuously promoting infiltration in Jharkhand. In Birni of Giridih district, he alleged that lakhs of infiltrators have entered Jharkhand and the government is helping them in making voter and ration cards.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing another rally in Bokaro, alleged that the Congress in-charge has promised to give cylinders to Hindus and Muslims as well as infiltrators. BJP will not let the rights of the tribals be given to the infiltrators.
