Voting is proposed for 38 seats in the second phase in Jharkhand on November 20. Hemant Soren is contesting elections from Barhet of Sahebganj.
Hemant's younger brother is contesting from Dumka on the JMM symbol, while Hemant's wife Kalpana is contesting from the Gandey seat. Hemant's sister-in-law Sita Soren is contesting from Jamtara on the Bharatiya Janata Party symbol.
This time the contest is not easy for Hemant Soren, who has been contesting elections in Barhet since 2014. Bijeri has fielded strong local candidate Gamaliel Hembram against him. Apart from this, BJP is working on every strategy to corner Hemant in Barhet.

Gandeya seat is also counted among the high profile seats. From here, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has fielded Hemant's wife Kalpana Soren. Bharatiya Janata Party has made Muniya Devi its candidate against Kalpana.

Jama- Jama assembly seat, which is considered to be held by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Soren family, is also counted among the high profile seats. This time Hemant has made Lewis Marandi the candidate from Jama. Lewis had recently left BJP and joined JMM.
Jama seat has been occupied by Soren family and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha for almost 40 years. In 1985, Shibu Soren had contested and won the elections from this seat. After Shibu Soren, his elder son Durga Soren, after the death of Durga Soren in the year 2009, his wife Soren has also won the election from Jama seat three times in a row.
