Major accidents on Indian roads are often attributed to “impatience,” not the state of the roads, the absence of more stringent traffic laws, or even the basic infrastructural requirements like speed breakers, traffic signals, and the like. An example of this was a video of a horrific accident that was circulated on social media. A cyclist was seen in the video attempting to cross a mostly deserted road. However, the rider ultimately collided with a vehicle that was speeding and apparently refused to slow down for them. The CCTV camera that was placed nearby recorded the footage. The event happened in Karnataka, close to Mangalore, according to the post. On the other hand, the incident’s date could not be verified.

Since it was uploaded, the video has been making the rounds on social media. While some proposed speed breakers for such routes, the majority reprimanded the motorist for failing to slow down or apply brakes while being visible.

The username “DriveSmart_IN” posted the video on X, previously Twitter. “Location: Puttur, Near Mangalore” was the caption on the photo. A cyclist who is waiting to turn may do so. 1. Identify cyclists early. This is a protective driving strategy. 2. Use your horn to warn them. 3. Check the traffic behind you and be ready to slow down. 4. To prevent rash responses, anticipate these risks and modify your pace. After being posted yesterday, the video had over 92K views.

People expressed their opinions in the comment area. “The vehicle seems to be traveling at a high pace on that route. Second, given the speed of the automobile, the rider ought to have expected. Regretfully, we would rather avoid taking chances and preserve that one second. One user said, “This is the mindset.” Another said, “This is really frightening.”

“When individuals perceive obstacles, why don’t they hit the brakes? A third user wrote, “I’m always trying to keep up with the speed and change lanes to avoid things. Why don’t you try slowing down? What’s the rush?” Installing speed breakers at each T and square intersection would easily prevent this disaster. Our sedan drivers are more concerned about scrapes on the ground. The best, least expensive, and most practical solution to this is to install a speed breaker,” someone else remarked.
