Ajit Pawar, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, confirmed on Friday a previous claim that businessman Gautam Adani attended the crucial talks between senior BJP and NCP officials five years ago over the establishment of the state’s administration. Pawar acknowledged that his prior statement was incorrect.
“I said about that, sometimes we are so busy with our work, that, by mistake, I will say something…… it must have happened by mistake.,” Pawar added.
“I am a man, only a man makes mistakes,” he said.
In an interview with ANI, Pawar said that the businessman did not attend any meetings about the formation of the administration.
“Gautam Adani wasn’t present. They weren’t present. Meetings take place in several locations. like if we are seated here. others are at various hotels, others are in guest homes, some are in Varsha, some are in Sagar, and some are in Devgiri,” Ajit Pawar said.
Ajit Pawar disputed that any industrialist had a part in the establishment of the administration and claimed that the meeting had taken place in the guest home of an industrialist.
“We were seated at the guest bungalow of Gautam Adani. An industrialist is not involved in the formation of a state government. He wasn’t present. Pawar said.
He said that he is not under any pressure to make such a declaration when questioned whether he was under any pressure to do so.
“I don’t give in to pressure from others. I have no justification for oppression; I am just sitting here. No one has hurt me, and I haven’t hurt anybody,” Pawar said.
“This is also a fake narrative,” he stated in response to opposition claims that the NDA administration is giving all industries to Gujarat. Gujarat is the destination for everyone. Maharashtra continues to get the most amount of foreign direct investment (FDI). “It is the best in the entire nation,” he said.
The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and the governing Mahayuti are both trying to win over voters as the campaigning for Maharashtra’s 288 assembly seats has heated up. November 20 is the day of the Maharashtra assembly elections, while November 23 is the date of the count.
