Diljit Dosanjh's Dil-Luminati Tour: Telangana government issues notice to event organizers
Ahead of Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh 's scheduled concert in Hyderabad on Friday, the Telangana government has issued a notice to the event organizers, prohibiting any songs that promote alcohol, drugs, or violence. This directive, issued by the District Welfare Officer of the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens in Rangareddy, follows a complaint from a Chandigarh resident.
The concert is part of Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour , a series spanning 10 cities across India. The notice, which cites video evidence from a previous show at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, highlights concerns that Diljit has performed songs promoting potentially harmful themes.
In addition to restricting songs that reference alcohol, drugs, or violence, the notice mandates that children should not appear on stage during the event. The directive also warns against the use of loud sounds and flashing lights, noting these could negatively impact young attendees. The singer, who is already in Hyderabad according to his recent social media posts, has been seen visiting local landmarks like Charminar and offering prayers at a temple and Gurudwara in the city.
Diljit Dosanjh ’s concert at Hyderabad on November 15 will proceed under these new guidelines, which reflect the Telangana government's efforts to promote family-friendly events and address public concerns.
Diljit’s Dil-Luminati Tour, which initially included a select number of cities, was expanded in response to high demand. The tour now covers major cities across India, including Delhi, Chandigarh, Guwahati, Pune, Indore, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad. After an electrifying start in Delhi and later in Jaipur, Dosanjh will continue the Dil-Luminati India Tour with eight more stops across the country, including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata, leading up to a grand finale in Guwahati on December 29.
