Madhya Pradesh Governor Mangubhai Patel has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making the personality and work of Lord Birsa Munda accessible to the people on Tribal Pride Day. The Governor said that the budget for the welfare of the tribal class has been increased by more than five times. Special efforts are also being made to improve the lives of Bega, Sahariya and other backward tribal classes. The Governor said that Prime Minister Modi has set a target of freeing the country from the deadly disease like sickle cell by the year 2047. He urged everyone to make special efforts to create awareness regarding the eradication of this disease.

He said that a university has been built in the name of Tantya Mama. The railway station has also been named after Tantya Mama. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the gift of 57 development works worth Rs 334 crore in Dhar district will provide fast pace to the region on the path of progress. He told that forest villages are being converted into revenue villages. The Chief Minister said that sickle cell disease is fatal for the society. No stone will be left unturned to eradicate this disease.
Tribal Welfare Minister Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah said that organizing Tribal Pride Day is historic. Adequate opportunities are being provided to the tribal people to come forward. Through the schemes of the Central and State Government, the children of the tribal community are being provided better education and new opportunities to move forward through various schemes.
In the ceremony, Governor Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav honored the people of the tribal community who have done remarkable work in the fields of social service, medicine, art etc. with Tribal Gaurav Samman. These include parents of organ donor Dhan Singh and Sundari Bai, football coach Shailendra of Sardarpur, Devaki Jamod, mother of drone engine maker Pritam Jamod, Saikribai of Bagh, orthopedic specialist Dr. Bharat Singh Ninama.
