The Prince and may be two of the most popular royals worldwide however, when it comes to their private life at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, as they reportedly do not have a key staff member.

and Princess Kate moved to the in 2022, after living in Kensington Palace for 11 years.

But according to royal author Robert Hardman, the couple had to cut down on staff after their move as they had "no room" for them - including the role of butler, according to Magazine.

Writing in his new book, Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, Mr Hardman said: "The couple [William and Kate] did not seek to boost the staff numbers at Adelaide Cottage, not least because there would be little room to do so," the author wrote.

"Reports that the Prince was hiring a valet were knocked back."

However, the royal biographer added that a similar role is in place at their London residence, Kensington Palace.

He explained: "The Kensington Palace team does include a 'yeoman,' a multi-tasking attendant who looks after everything from luggage to uniforms, but there is no 'gentleman's gentleman' on the staff."

A source told the author: "And certainly no butler, it's very much them at home with the kids."

It comes as Prince William last week revealed that his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis adopt environmentally friendly practices at home in their own bid to save the planet.

The heir to the throne, who visited Cape Town in South Africa for his annual Earthshot Prize Awards, said that all three of his children like to recycle, minimise water use and turn off the lights when they leave the house, following his footsteps over making environmentally conscious decisions and "make real impact".

He told the BBC: "We go through all the basics of recycling and making sure we minimise water use and turning off lights when we leave the house and stuff like that, and making sure, which is sensible in what we do around the environment.

"And I think every family has these conversations. You just try to do what you can."
