A massive fire broke out in the infant ward (SNCU) of Lakshmibai Medical College, Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. In this accident, 10 newborn children admitted in the infant ward died, while 16 innocent children were seriously burnt. These children are being treated in the emergency ward. Short circuit is being said to be the cause of the accident. Due to this, the oxygen concentrator caught fire and the cylinder exploded. However, another new thing is coming to light regarding this accident.
An official said that the level of oxygen in the infant ward was high, due to which the fire broke out more in the ward. At the same time, CM Yogi has taken cognizance of this accident. He has directed the district administration to carry out relief and rescue work expeditiously. The accident happened around 10:30 pm. Chief Medical Superintendent Sachin Mahor said that at the time of the accident, 54 children were admitted in the NICU ward.
Suddenly a fire broke out inside the oxygen concentrator. An attempt was made to extinguish the fire in the concentrator, but there was excessive oxygen in the SNCU ward. Therefore the fire spread rapidly and within no time it became a complete disaster. It is being told that even after the fire in the hospital, the safety alarm was not raised. For this reason the fire had taken a huge form. If the safety alarm had gone off, perhaps such a major accident would not have happened in the SNCU ward.
Since the incident, the victim's families are in a bad state of tears and crying. At the same time, CM Yogi has asked for the report of this accident from the district administration within 12 hours. CM Yogi has announced immediate compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of deceased children and Rs 50 thousand each to the families of seriously injured children. Former Chief Minister and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed grief over the entire accident and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
SP chief Akhilesh Yadav said, the cause of the fire is being said to be fire in the oxygen concentrator. This is simply a case of negligence of medical management and administration or poor quality oxygen concentrator. Punitive action should be taken against all those responsible in this case. The Chief Minister (CM Yogi) should leave the election campaign and false claims that everything is fine and focus on the poor condition of health and medicine. Only those families who have lost their children can understand their pain.
