Egypt: In preparation for its cargo’s entrance into the Gaza Strip as part of Operation “Chivalrous Knight 3,” the fifth UAE assistance ship headed for Gaza landed at the port of Arish in the Egyptian governorate of North Sinai today, Saturday, with 5,112 tons of humanitarian goods.

The Emirates Red Crescent, the Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, and Al Foah Dates Company provided the ship with food, shelter, and medical supplies when it sailed from Al Hamriya Port in Dubai on October 30. Additionally, the ship included five ambulances.

With this, more than 34,000 tons of supplies had been sent to Gaza overall.

Among the several projects the UAE had started as part of Operation “Chivalrous Knight 3” were the construction of five automated bakeries and two field hospitals, one within the Gaza Strip and the other a floating hospital off the coast of Al Arish city. Eight already-existing bakeries in Gaza have also received flour, and six desalination facilities have been set up to generate 1.2 million gallons of water daily, which are poured into the Gaza Strip to help over 600,000 people.

Launched by the Joint Operations Command, Operation “Birds of Goodness” successfully carried out 53 airdrops of humanitarian assistance to remote, land-inaccessible locations in the northern Gaza Strip. 3,623 tons of humanitarian goods and relief items have been dumped thus far.
