New Delhi: Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri commented on Indian pacer Mohammed Shamis latest social media post on November 15 Friday. The cricketing world is abuzz with excitement and anticipation as the Border-Gavaskar Trophy looms on the horizon set to commence on November 22 2024 in Perth. Central to this excitement is the potential return of Mohammed Shami whose last international appearance was in the heart-wrenching World Cup 2023 final against Australia. Since then Shami has been grappling with a knee issue undergoing surgery and a painstaking recovery process. However his recent performance in domestic cricket has reignited hopes among fans and former cricketing stalwarts alike.
Mohammed Shami returned to competitive cricket after almost a year in the ongoing round 5 fixture for Benfal in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy against Madhya Pradesh. The 34-year-old marked a memorable comeback claiming four wickets to help Bengal secure a 61-run first-innings lead. The pacer later took to Instagram to share a message with his fans writing:
Finally the wait is over! After 360 days I’m back on field stronger and hungrier. 4 wickets for Bengal in Ranji Trophy and this is just the start. Every delivery every wicket is dedicated to You my incredible fans. Your love fuels my passion! Let’s make this season unforgettable!
