After being embarrassingly whitewashed by India in the recent three-match series against New Zealand, India are all set to take on Australia on their home turf in a five-match Test Series for the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The first match of the series is set to take place from November 22 (Friday) at the Optus Stadium in Perth. Before the match, India played an intra-squad match as practice ahead of the game, and most of the batters, including the likes of Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant struggled. In fact, only one batter managed to score a fifty in the match.

He looked comfortable with the pace and bounce of the WACA track, and managed to score a brisk 52 before it was cut short after he edged the ball to second slip. Shubman Gill also looked good with a 42-run innings. Both batters started their innings aggressively but then adopted a more cautious approach seeing the fast nature of the pitch. He looked good in the brief 30-run innings that he scored, but was cleaned up twice by Nitish Kumar Rewddy. He looked jaded after reportedly sustaining a groin injury.
