The government is serious about the death of 10 children due to fire in the NICU of Maharani Lakshmibai Medical College, Jhansi. After this accident, on one hand the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered an investigation of all the hospitals, while on the other hand a high power committee has been formed to investigate this accident. This committee will complete its investigation within a week and submit its report to the government. Although many points have been given for investigation, but mainly the committee has to find out how the fire broke out in the NICU ward and who is responsible for this accident?
After the committee's report comes, necessary action will be taken by the government. State Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and Principal Secretary of Medical and Education Department Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, who reached the spot after the accident, have issued orders in this regard. After investigating the matter at his own level, he announced to form a committee. This committee will be headed by Director General of Medical Education and Training, Kinjal Singh. Along with him, the Director (Health) of the Health Department and Additional Director of Electricity and officers nominated by the Director General of Fire will also be present in the committee.
According to the Deputy Chief Minister, the culprit will be identified in the investigation committee's report and action will be taken against him. Along with this, after the cause of the accident becomes clear, necessary steps will be taken to prevent such lapses in any other hospital or establishment. He said that adequate arrangements have been made for proper treatment of the children injured in this accident. The government will bear the entire expense involved in this. Let us tell you that on Friday night, a fire broke out in the NICU of Maharani Laxmibai Medical College due to short circuit. 10 children had died in this accident. More than 30 children have been badly burnt. At the time of the accident, 54 children were admitted in this ward.
After the Jhansi accident, the Uttar Pradesh government has ordered security checks in all the hospitals of the state. Under this order, orders have been given to prevent fire incidents, prevent fire situations and investigate other emergency arrangements in all hospitals. For this, duty of fire safety officers has been imposed in all the districts. Fire safety officers also conducted investigations in most of the hospitals on Saturday. During this time the hospital management has been informed about the shortcomings. In this regard, a compiled report will be prepared from all the districts and sent to the government.
In this sequence, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the children who died in this accident. Similarly, apart from an assistance amount of Rs 50,000, it has been announced for the families of the children who were burnt and injured in the accident, that they will get complete treatment at government expense. Similarly, financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh will be provided to the families of the deceased from the Prime Minister's Relief Fund of the Central Government.
