Retired Team India all-rounder Irfan Pathan took an indirect dig at former international umpire Steve Bucknor by commenting on a post of Sachin Tendulkar on the social media platform of X. With Tendulkar standing in front of three massive trees and asking on X that which umpire made it look like the stumps were this big.Having umpired in over 100 Tests, Bucknor is said to have costed India many matches due to his poor umpiring. The umpiring errors is said to have reached the boiling point during the 2007-08 tour of Australia as some debatable decisions seemed to have cost the visitors a deserved series victory.Meanwhile, Tendulkar posted a picture, standing in front of three massive trees and posted the caption:"Can you guess which umpire made the stumps feel this big?"Pathan commented on the post saying:"The one who would have run miles away from the cricket ground in the times of DRS. SB""Losing 3-0 at home is a tough pill to swallow" - Sachin TendulkarMeanwhile, Tendulkar, like many other cricketers was disappointed by Team India's lacklustre display during their 3-0 series loss to New Zealand. The former batting icon feels Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant were the only silver linings to emerge out of their defeat. He wrote on X:"Losing 3-0 at home is a tough pill to swallow, and it calls for introspection. Was it lack of preparation, was it poor shot selection, or was it lack of match practice? @ShubmanGill showed resilience in the first innings, and @RishabhPant17 was brilliant in both innings— his footwork made a challenging surface look like a different one altogether. He was simply superb. Full credit to New Zealand for their consistent performance throughout the series. Winning 3-0 in India is as good a result as it can get."India will next face Australia in a five-Test series.
