The smog situation in Delhi NCR is continuously increasing since Diwali. The situation became so bad on Sunday that the smog hid the sun. By 3 o'clock in the afternoon it seemed as if it was evening. Talking about the pollution index, the level of pollution has crossed 460. AQI in Delhi NCR is around 400. In such a situation, the government has implemented Grape-4 restrictions as a precaution. In such a situation, lung related diseases are increasing among people and these diseases are spreading rapidly in children and elderly people.

After the implementation of Grape-4 restrictions, many more restrictions are being imposed on the city residents in Delhi from 8 am on Monday. In which it has been decided to close schools above 6th class. In which Delhi Government and other schools can arrange online classes. There will be a complete ban on heavy vehicles and trucks running on petrol and diesel. Along with this, other important things are being included so that pollution can be reduced a little.

What is the opinion of experts

It is becoming difficult for people living in Delhi, which has become a gas chamber, to even breathe. People were complaining of burning sensation in the eyes and pain in the throat. In such a situation, it is important that you too adopt these methods to avoid diseases. First of all, always use a mask while going out, it would be better if you use N95 mask. Keep windows and doors closed inside the house. You can also drink lukewarm water in the morning and night.

Take these measures to avoid smog-

  • If possible indoors, use an air purifier.
  • Stay indoors during high pollution and go out of the house only when absolutely necessary.
  • Advise children and the elderly especially to stay at home, plan activities for children inside the house so that the child does not go outside to play.
  • To travel short distances, people should use bicycles or walk.
  • Consume as much of hot food as possible. You can consume ginger and honey.
  • In case of pain in the throat, excessive itching or burning in the eyes, difficulty in breathing, consult a doctor immediately.
  • Take as much fluids as possible, drink lukewarm water.
  • Keep hands and feet clean and hygienic, also eat nutritious food and include immunity enhancing things in your diet.
