A terrorist associate in Jammu and Kashmir has been arrested by security forces in Baramulla district. A rifle, magazine and other ammunition have been recovered from him. According to the information, a terrorist associate was arrested along with arms and ammunition on Janbajpora Binnar Road in Baramulla district of North Kashmir on Sunday.
A top police officer said that acting on specific input, a joint team of police and security forces nabbed a terrorist associate on Janbajapoda Binnar Road. He has been identified as Shaukat Ahmed Bhat, resident of Nagnad Damhal Hanji Pora Kulgam. He said that an AK rifle, a magazine and other ammunition were recovered from his possession. The officer said that a case has been registered in this regard and investigation has been started.
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday stressed on complete eradication of terrorism and the entire ecosystem supporting terrorists from the Union Territory for the development of the region. Presiding over a meeting of senior citizens and police officers here, he said that action should be taken against those aiding and abetting the terrorist network.
Manoj Sinha said that with greater coordination and a whole-of-government approach, our focus should be on completely eliminating terrorism and the entire ecosystem that supports it. He said that the authorities should not rest until the terrorists are eliminated.
A Raj Bhavan spokesperson said the meeting, attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dullu, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat and Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of Jammu division, among others, reviewed the progress of development projects and the security situation in the region. Manoj Sinha told the officials that eliminating terrorism from Jammu and Kashmir will be your biggest contribution not only in the security aspect, establishing peace, but also in its development.
