The premiere of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! launched with a bang as 10 fresh-faced contestants were thrown into a series of gruelling challenges to establish the camp's inaugural leaders.

Split into two factions, Oti Mabuse, Tulisa Contostavlos, Jane Moore, Danny Jones, and Dean McCullough made up the first group of intrepid participants.

Their counterparts comprised Alan Halsall, Barry McGuigan, GK Barry, Coleen Rooney, and Melvin Odoom.

The initial quintet faced their first ordeal by gulping down a dubious concoction brimming with revolting ingredients before dashing to awaiting helicopters.

Post skydiving, the original group paired off with members from the second, resulting in Danny teaming with Barry.

Upon reaching a trial site, they were welcomed by hosts Ant and Dec who introduced them to 'The Mausoleum of Misery' challenge.

Confined to separate vaults, each contestant had five stars to collect, secured by padlocks, but true to I'm A Celebrity fashion, a twist awaited as 15 snakes were unleashed into each chamber.

Mid-challenge, a flustered Danny yelped: "I've got a snake up my shorts," prompting Ant and Dec to dissolve into laughter.

Dec couldn't resist quipping: "That is what's known here as a trouser snake," while Danny writhed uncomfortably.

The trial came to a close with the revelation that Danny had triumphed, securing all five stars while Barry failed to secure any.

In the midst of his success, Danny suddenly yelled: "Can you get it out of my shorts! ".

An animal handler rushed onto set as Danny proceeded to unzip his shorts, exposing a massive snake that had slithered inside. Luckily, the professional calmly removed the serpent from Danny's trousers as they both headed back to camp.

I'm A Celebrity continues tomorrow night at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX followed by I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked on ITV2 after the main show
