Violence flares up again in Manipur, Rahul Gandhi makes this big demand from PM Modi

New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has targeted the central government over the ongoing violence in the country's north-eastern state Manipur. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi termed the recent violent clashes and ongoing violence in Manipur as extremely disturbing. Along with this, he has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the state and work towards restoring peace in the region.

Let us inform that a day after the bodies of three of the six missing people in Manipur were fished out of the river, protesters on Saturday attacked the residences of three ministers and six MLAs of the state. In view of the increasing violence in the area, the state government has announced indefinite curfew in five districts of Manipur. Apart from this, internet services have also been closed in some parts of the state.

Rahul Gandhi expressed concern over Manipur violence

Posting on social media platform X, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote that the recent violent clashes and continuing violence in Manipur have created deep concern. The former Congress chief said that after more than a year of division and suffering, every Indian expected that the central and state governments would make every possible effort for reconciliation and find a solution.

In the social media post, Rahul Gandhi further wrote that I urge Prime Minister Narendra Modi to once again visit Manipur and work towards restoring peace and harmony in the region. Let us tell you that since May last year, more than 200 people have lost their lives in the ongoing violence between Meitei and Kuki communities in Manipur.

Congress attack on PM Modi

Earlier, the Congress party has expressed concern over the increasing tension in Manipur and alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government are adopting a negative attitude towards this violence. Congress tweeted that incidents of violence and arson are continuing in Manipur and meanwhile the Prime Minister has gone on a foreign trip. The party has demanded immediate action to restore peace and security in Manipur.
