Exclusive: Nilu Kohli looks forward to resume work on TV post husband's demise; says 'I hope I get that strength to face the world'
Veteran actress Nilu Kohli , a familiar face in Indian television and films, is contemplating a return to the small screen after a tragic personal loss. In March this year, her husband, Harminder Singh Kohli , passed away suddenly, leaving the family in deep grief. Reflecting on her journey and aspirations, Nilu recently shared her thoughts with Times of India TV .
“Honestly, after my husband, I really haven’t had the strength to do TV. Television demands a lot, and I am not yet completely healed,” she revealed. “But now I plan to take work seriously. So I am thinking of taking up a TV project so I get that strength to face the world. I'm doing films and all but I'll only do something on TV if there's something really nice.”
Harminder Singh Kohli’s untimely demise on March 24 left the family shattered. He was reportedly in good health but was found unconscious in the bathroom shortly after returning from the Gurudwara. The family’s house help discovered him lying on the floor and rushed him to the hospital, but it was too late. At the time of the incident, Nilu was away, and the tragic news was shared by her daughter Sahiba. "It was a sudden death, and my mom is not in a good condition," Sahiba stated.
A seasoned actress, Nilu Kohli has appeared in notable TV shows like Saavi Ki Savaari, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii , and Krishnaben Khakhrawala. On the big screen, she earned acclaim for her performances in films like Hey Bro, Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty, and Tere Naam, where she shared screen space with Salman Khan.
