Odisha State secretariat Lok Seva Bhawan now has a sanitary napkin dispensing machine and a disposal machine. Prabhati Parida, the deputy chief minister, officially unveiled the equipment on Saturday.

According to Parida, the machines are a step in the right direction toward establishing a more welcoming and encouraging work environment by improving the cleanliness of women on the property. Employees and people visiting the premises for grievance redressal will find the machines convenient as they have been placed in key areas for optimum accessibility, such as the ladies’ common room and the ladies’ restroom complex next to the central elevator lobby on the second floor.

In order to further improve accessibility and foster a clean and welcoming atmosphere for women, plans are on to soon expand similar amenities to all of the building’s ladies’ restrooms, she added. Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister engaged with Lok Seva Bhawan’s female staff members, attentively hearing their issues and complaints.

She reassured them that the government would provide the resources they needed to work in a secure, healthy, and encouraging atmosphere, taking into account their mental and physical wellbeing.

Along with top bureaucrats, Parida also paid an unexpected visit to the creche on the grounds of Loka Seva Bhawan. She observed the operations and infrastructure while interacting with the youngsters and the service providers. The need of a bigger area to house additional kids was brought up throughout the conversation. Parida noted that a proposal on the subject would shortly be finalized.
