November 18, Abu Dhabi [UAE] (ANI/WAM): The Specialized Translation in Defense and Security program has begun at Rabdan Academy. In particular, the program seeks to provide national translators with experience in simultaneous and sequential translation for field training in the defense and security industries.
Offering up to 40 approved hours that are recognized within the national credentials system, it is the first program of its sort in the Middle East and North Africa. The curriculum is available to qualified participants from national organizations via Rabdan Academy, a training provider officially recognized by the National Qualifications Center.
Subject to certain conditions and requirements, the Academy will allow national organizations to designate their personnel who possess a bachelor’s degree or above to take part in the program.
UAE nationals who fulfill certain requirements, such as possessing a family book, having a bachelor’s degree or above, being between the ages of 22 and 40, having an IELTS score of 6-6.5, having completed national service for men, having an EmSAT Arabic score of at least 1400, and being physically fit, are eligible to participate.
Rabdan Academy’s Director of Vocational Education Affairs, Dr. Muna Abdulla Balfaqeeh, emphasized that the program encourages the incorporation of state-of-the-art technology and developments in the security and defense sectors. By precisely and professionally conveying worldwide experiences, it improves military training while maintaining privacy and secrecy in the military setting.
The goal of Rabdan Academy is to provide comprehensive learning and development services that support the professional development system throughout the safety, security, defense, emergency preparation, and crisis management sectors. Balfaqeeh noted that teaching UAE citizens in this crucial area is in line with this goal. Additionally, it strengthens the country’s ability to handle regional and international difficulties.
English for military reasons, military language in the United Arab Emirates, Arabic translation techniques, and simultaneous and consecutive interpretation exercises within the military framework are among the theoretical subjects covered in the five-month curriculum. In order to get practical experience in military and security translation, participants will also participate in field training, shadowing seasoned interpreters.
The program, created by Rabdan Academy’s Vocational Education Affairs Division, aims to improve security and defense personnel’s professional capacities by providing national institutions with highly skilled translators who meet the highest quality criteria.
