On Monday, the last day of assembly election campaign in Maharashtra, NCP Sharad Pawar faction leader Eknath Khadse has announced his retirement from politics. He announced his decision not to contest any further elections. On this occasion, Khadse also gave an emotional statement. While appealing for the victory of his daughter Rohini Khadse, he said that only God will decide whether I will see the next election or not. For almost four decades, Khadse has dominated not only in Jalgaon district but also in the politics of Maharashtra. There was a lot of discussion about his speeches recently.

In the video shared on social media by daughter Rohini Khadse, Eknath Khadse has said that, I am talking to Nathabhau. Assembly elections are on 20th November. Rohini Khadse is the NCP candidate in this election. I will not contest elections anymore. I have been with you for many years. You all have supported me over the years. We have helped everyone irrespective of caste and religion.

In the video, he further says that God will decide whether I will see the next election due to health reasons or not, but Eknath Khadse made an emotional appeal and said that just as you have supported me, in the same way Rohini Khadse should also be elected with support. .

From Sarpanch of Kothari to Minister of 12 departments

Eknath Khadse was the face of BJP in the state along with BJP leader Gopinath Munde. Khadse along with Gopinath Munde contributed a lot to the development of the party. Eknath Khadse started his political career as the Sarpanch of Kothari village (1987). After this he never looked back in politics. He held various positions like MLA, Leader of Opposition, Minister of 12 departments. He made many people stand in the party. His words were valid till Delhi.

Was also involved in the race for the post of Chief Minister

There was a time when his name was mentioned in the race for the post of Chief Minister, but after differences with Devendra Fadnavis, Eknath Khadse's status in BJP started declining. He was continuously accused of second class behaviour. Therefore he left BJP in 2020 and joined NCP.
