A Rs 10 crores dispute over apparently a three-second clip has led to massive controversy between actor Dhanush and Nayanthara, which has now become a topic of public discussion after the Jawan actress posted an open letter slamming the former on X. In the midst of this all, a viral X thread calling the South actress "greedy and overrated" has gone viral on social media. And this has become a topic of discussion among fans.

In the thread, the user alleged that Nayanthara wanted to make money out of her wedding. Hence, she sold the documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale to Netflix. Furthermore, the user alleged that to make her wedding more popular, she invited Shah Rukh Khan as well as Ajith and Vijay. As per the user, Dhanush had sent legal notice to the couple even before she sold the wedding documentary to Netflix over the use of some clips and background score from the films he produced.

The user also shared tweets of people supporting Dhanush by saying that if Nayanthara wants to make money with her wedding then why can't Dhanush. Another clip in which Nayanthara allegedly insulted Allu Arjun, an old controversy, was also shared on the thread. Furthermore, the user slammed the actress for showing Lord Ram as a meat eater encouraging Love Jihad in her film Annapoorani.

It all started after Nayanthara posted a long open letter addressed to Dhanush on X on Nov 16 alleging that alleging that he is harbouring a personal grudge against her and her husband Vignesh Shivan after the latter sent her a legal notice demanding Rs 10 crores in damages for unauthorised use of a three-second clip from their 2015 movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her upcoming documentary Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale on Netflix. The clip is significant to for the Netflix documentary which showcases their wedding, as that is where their love story began. The documentary has been released on November 18.
