India vs Australia: Daniel Vettori to give Perth Test a miss to attend IPL 2025 mega auction

Australia's bowling coach Danniel Vettori will not be with the team for the first Test of the upcoming five-match Test series against India.
The series opener will is set to be played at Perth's Optus Stadium from November 22. According to a ESPNCRICINFO report, Vettori, who is also the head coach of Indian Premier League side Sunrisers Hyderabad, will be attending the league's mega auction which are scheduled for November 24 and November 25 in Jeddah. Apart from being Australia men's team's bowling coach and the head coach of SRH, Vettori is also the head coach of The Hundred side Birmingham Phoenix. The former New Zealand skipper has been working as Australia's bowling coach in all three formats since 2022. Last week PTI reported that Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer will be skipping their commentary duties during the Perth Test to attend the highly anticipated mega auction. Ponting and Langer are part of the commentary panel for Australian based Channel Seven. The duo will be in Jeddah to fulfil their IPL commitments. Earlier this year Ponting was appointed as the new head coach of Punjab Kings. Langer is the head coach of Lucknow Super Giants.
