It is made by the ancestors, which is considered one of the special rituals.

Importance

During Mati Kodan, soil is picked up from the place of the deity and it is used in every marriage ritual. It is mentioned in the scriptures that Bhu Devi is the wife of Lord Vishnu, hence first of all Mother Earth is invoked and brought to the family deity of one's house, so that the marriage can be completed peacefully.

reason for alliance

It is important to have an alliance in the ritual of soiling. At some places, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law form an alliance, at some places, the Gotanis come out to till the soil in alliance and at some places, the worship is done by Baiga at the place of the deity. Also, that soil is collected and brought home. This soil is kept near the family deity of the house, after which the ritual is completed.
