The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy is just four days away and the action will kick off with the first Test match to be played at the Optus Stadium in Perth from November 22 to 26. The series will draw huge media coverage and many marquee commentators have landed in Australia to cover the series.Ravi Shastri, one of the most prominent voices in world cricket, has also landed in the continent. Michael Vaughan, who is in Australia, welcomed Ravi with a 'cheerful' post on Instagram. "The great man has arrived Down under @ravishastriofficial .. This is Ravi Shastri's first tour of Australia as a commentator in a decade. He joined Duncan Fletcher-headed coaching staff during the England tour in 2014 and retained his position till the 2016 T20 World Cup.In 2018, Ravi was Team India's head coach when they landed Down Under. The Virat Kohli-led side created history by becoming the first Asian team to win a Test series in Australia.Ravi was given an extension in 2019 and was the head coach during the Australia tour in 2020/21 as well. A second-string squad captained by Ajinkya Rahane pulled off a heist by clinching the series. Ravi's stint as the head coach ended after the 2021 T20 World Cup. India-Australia fixturesAfter the first Test match in Perth, the action will move to Adelaide. Adelaide will host the pink-ball Test match from December 6 to 10. The third Test match will be played in Brisbane from December 14 to 18.Melbourne will host the Boxing Day Test match from December 26 to 30. Sydney will host the fifth and final Test of the series from January 3 to 7.
