Gurugram: Residents across Delhi-NCR are grappling with severe air pollution, making breathing increasingly difficult for all. A sudden, dense smog has enveloped the region, reducing visibility and worsening air quality. The situation comes amid the implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) Stage 4, which enforces strict curbs to combat pollution. Gurugram residents woke up to 'severe' air quality on Tuesday, with all major monitoring stations recording hazardous AQI levels.

School ClosureIn response to escalating pollution levels in Gurugram, Deputy Commissioner Ajay Kumar has ordered the closure of schools for classes up to the 5th standard starting November 19 until further notice. An official statement revealed that an analysis of the district's Air Quality Index (AQI) showed pollution levels in the "very poor" category in some areas, while certain parts reached the "severe" category in the past 24 hours. "Therefore, in the interest of the health and safety of children, all classes up to 5th standard will remain closed in all areas (urban and rural) of Gurugram district from November 19 till further orders."For students above class 5, online teaching will be conducted in place of physical classes at all government and private schools of the district," the order read.
