Brazil: After a hectic first day at the G20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a number of important bilateral talks and contacts on Monday. In a series of tweets on X, the prime minister detailed his conversations with world leaders, including South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
President Modi said at his meeting with the European Commission that “India will keep working closely with the EU for global good.”
PM Modi and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer had a crucial discussion on the fringes of the conference. The discussion was “extremely productive,” Modi said, underscoring the importance of India’s Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with the UK. “We are excited to collaborate closely in fields including technology, renewable energy, security, and innovation in the next years. Additionally, we wish to strengthen cultural ties and commerce,” PM Modi said on social media.
Additionally, PM Modi met with French President Emmanuel Macron, with whom he embraced him warmly and complimented him for holding the Olympics and Paralympics in Paris earlier this year.
Their conversations focused on enhancing collaboration in fields that are focused on the future, such as artificial intelligence (AI), energy, and space. We discussed how France and India would continue to collaborate closely in fields like artificial intelligence, energy, space, and other cutting-edge fields. Additionally, our countries will collaborate closely to strengthen people-to-people ties,” PM Modi said on X.
PM Modi spoke with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store about ways to strengthen investment ties, especially in the blue economy, green hydrogen, and renewable energy. Modi described the meeting as “excellent” and emphasized the ways in which both countries might improve their collaboration in research and innovation. “Our Arctic Policy has led to further cementing of India-Norway bilateral relations,” Prime Minister Modi said.
Additionally, PM Modi discussed enhancing military, security, commercial, and technological partnerships with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. “India-Italy friendship can greatly contribute to a better planet,” Modi said, highlighting the significance of the two countries’ connection.
