Now people will be given Rs 2.5 lakh
This month, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0 is going to be implemented in Punjab. It has got the green signal from the Finance Department. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, earlier people in Punjab were given a help of Rs 1,75,000. In which Rs 25000 was given by the Punjab government, while Rs 1.5 lakh was given by the Central Government.
But now in this scheme, instead of Rs 25000, Rs 1 lakh will be given by the Punjab government. At the same time, Rs 1.5 lakh will be given by the Central Government. That is, in total, Rs 2.5 lakh will be available. Under the scheme, the beneficiaries are given money to build two rooms, one bathroom and a kitchen.
These people get the benefit
The government has fixed some eligibility for the benefit under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Beneficiaries have to fulfill these eligibility. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0, those people will get the benefit whose annual income is up to 3 lakhs. Along with this, they must also have 45 square yards of land. Apart from this, those who have not taken advantage of any other scheme of the Center and State in the last 5 years will be given benefits by the government.
