Sharma further emphasized that extra security measures have been coordinated by the relevant Returning Officers (ROs) for the designated vulnerable places.

DM Sharma said that the energy department has been given strict orders to provide a continuous power supply during the election process.

“Everything is ready for the vote. I urge every voter to cast their ballot and turn out in large numbers.Sharma informed the media, “The concerned RO has discussed deploying additional security in the identified sensitive areas.”

He called on people to vote in big numbers since the area has around 50 lakh voters.

“I urge every voter to utilize their right to vote and turn out in large numbers. “Everyone should come and exercise their right to vote on this special day,” Sharma said, highlighting the significance of the election day.

Voting is scheduled on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, after the heated campaigning for the Maharashtra Assembly elections concluded on Monday, November 18, 2024.

The BJP-led Mahayuti coalition and the Congress-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) have emerged as the leading candidates in the power struggle in the 288-seat Maharashtra Assembly, which has been characterized by shifting alliances, ideological disputes, intricate caste relations, and emotive appeals.

BJP, Shiv Sena, and the Nationalist Congress Party make up the governing BJP-led Mahayuti coalition, whilst Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) make up the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA).

There was a fierce contest for Maharashtra’s 288 assembly seats.
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “ek hain to safe hain” slogan at a news conference earlier on Monday in Mumbai.

“Ideologies are at stake in the Maharashtra election, which pits the underprivileged against one or two billionaires. The millionaires seek to acquire ownership of Mumbai’s land. It is estimated that one millionaire would get Rs 1 lakh crores. We believe that assistance is needed for Maharashtra, its farmers, the impoverished, the jobless, and the young,” Gandhi said.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi was criticized by BJP chairman JP Nadda on Monday for engaging in “appeasement politics” and attempting to implement religiously based reservations.

After his public speech in Navi Mumbai, Nadda spoke to ANI, accusing the MVA alliance of “promoting divisive politics” and being mainly concerned with acquiring power.

The BJP leader emphasized the values of togetherness and inclusive development while contrasting the MVA’s strategy with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government style.

“They don’t have any problems with Maha Vikas Aghadi. All they want is to take over. They have caused division among people. People are divided by those who oppose Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution, engage in appeasement politics, and discuss religiously motivated reservations. “Saba Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas is PM Modi’s motto,” Nadda said.

“I see a wave of Mahayuti in every area of Maharashtra. In order to promote Mahayuti’s growth, continuity, and promising future, people have developed an environment. They are eager to help us, I can tell. Additionally, the people of Maharashtra have determined that only the Mahayuti will be able to realize their aspirations for progress. Thus, everyone has chosen to back Mahayuti,” he said.

Along with Maharashtra’s Nanded Parliamentary Constituency, campaigning also came to an end for by-elections to 15 assembly seats across four states. Voting will take place on November 20 and the count will take place on November 23.
