A Pan Card is an important document. Be it investing in the stock market or opening a bank account, a PAN card is asked for everywhere. There are many places where a PAN card is mandatory. In such a situation, it is very important to have this document along with an Aadhar card. If you do not have a PAN card, then you can apply for a new PAN card in a few minutes.
It costs a nominal amount to get a new PAN card made and within a few days, the PAN card is made and delivered to your address. Here we are going to tell the online and offline process of applying for a PAN card.
How to apply online
Some steps have to be followed to apply for a PAN card. The PAN card is delivered to the address within about 15 days of applying.
Step 1- Go to the NSDL or UTIITSL portal.
Step 2- Click on the option of New PAN.
Step 3- Select 'PAN Card Form 49A' in the application type.
Step 4- Fill in details like name, last name, DOB, and mobile on the page.
Step 5- To start processing, you have to pay the processing fee online or through demand draft after submitting the form.
Step 6- After making the payment, you will get an acknowledgment slip.
Step 7- Now you have to e-sign the application using Aadhaar OTP authentication. You can also send the application along with the required documents to the NSDL PAN office / UTIITSL office (via courier).
Step 8- Once the verification is complete, the PAN card number is issued. You can download the digital PAN card after two hours, but the physical card takes at least 15 days to arrive.
Process of applying offline
You can apply for an offline PAN card through the District Level PAN Agency. For this, first of all, Form 49A has to be downloaded from the NSDL or UTIITSL website. You can also get this form from the agent in the agency. After this, the form has to be filled and submitted to the NSDL/UTIITSL office along with the necessary documents. Some fee is charged for this. The new PAN card is delivered to the address within 15 days of completion of verification.
