These have been introduced in the US for users currently using the beta program. The first of these features is the scam detection feature, which monitors the conversation taking place on real-time calls. The second feature is Google Play Protect Real-Time Alert, which monitors the activities going on in the background of any app.

Scam Detection Feature
Google's new scam detection feature is going to prove to be very useful in terms of the security and privacy of users. With the help of this feature, the conversation going on the call can be monitored in real-time. Which will greatly reduce the chances of getting scammed. This shows whether the incoming call can be a scam or not.

The scam detection feature will only work on English-language phone calls. This is different from normal caller ID apps and services, which use phone numbers and track calling behavior to determine if a number is associated with fraud.

The scam detection feature uses on-device AI to monitor common scam indicators during phone conversations. If signs of fraud are found, the system flags the call and notifies the user.

Google Play Protect feature
Google Play Protect is a real-time alert that monitors the background activity of any app. It sends notifications to alert the user in real-time. It monitors sensitive permissions and other things. If it finds something suspicious, it analyzes them and alerts the user. The feature monitors all apps installed on the Android device. Also, due to the feature, alerts are received about which app should be deleted from the phone immediately.

Which users will get the new features?
Google has confirmed through its new blog post that the Live Threat Detection feature with real-time alerts is now available on Google Pixel 6 and new Pixel models. While the scam detection feature has been launched only in the US. These features can currently be used only by users registered in the beta program. It will be rolled out to other countries and users in the coming months.
