The Miss Grand India Organization has officially terminated its partnership with Miss Grand International (MGI), attributing the decision to differing visions and objectives, shortly after Indian contestant Rachel Gupta’s victory at this year’s MGI pageant.

The breakup was announced through a statement signed by Nikhil Anand–President of Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., which oversees the Miss Grand India franchise–and posted on Miss Grand India’s Instagram page.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to part ways with the Miss Grand International organization,” the statement declared. “Our decision comes from recognizing that our visions and goals differ at this moment.”
The statement also noted that the split would enable the organization to focus on new investments and projects that are set to be revealed soon. Additionally, it highlighted that loyalty is a core value for their organization and significantly influenced their decision to separate.
“We remain committed to prioritizing trust, alignment, and long-term relationships as we move forward,” the statement continued.
The organization expressed significant pride in celebrating 20-year-old Gupta’s historic victory at the Miss Grand International 2024.
“Rachel, you will forever be our Queen, and your achievement marks a historic milestone for our country,” the statement proclaimed. “We are proud to stand by you and will continue to support you throughout your reign.”
Describing the decision as the beginning of a “new chapter,” the Miss Grand India Organization promised to provide further updates soon.
“Thank you for your understanding and support,” concluded the statement.
MGI has yet to respond to these developments.
MGI, established in 2013 by Thai television host and producer Nawat Itsaragrisil, focuses on humanitarian efforts, with winners promoting charitable causes during their reign.
Contestants are chosen through national competitions, internal casting, or direct selection by franchise holders in their respective countries or territories.
