The Modi administration would guarantee that all inmates who have completed one-third of their sentence obtain justice prior to Constitution Day, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday.

“We have bound the court, the prosecution, and the police with about 60 provisions to complete their work within the time limit,” Shah said during his speech at the 50th All India Police Science Conference. Our goal is to ensure that, prior to Constitution Day, no prisoner in the nation’s jails has served one-third of his sentence and has not yet received justice.

We have also bound the jails to present the bail process in court if the trial does not proceed after a specific amount of time, with the exception of some relatively minor offenses. Both holding the police force responsible and bolstering its power have been the subject of extensive efforts.

Every year on November 26, Samvidhan Diwas, also known as Constitution Day, is observed to mark the adoption of the Indian Constitution. In addition to emphasizing and restating its values and principles, it also honors and acknowledges the contributions of our Founding Fathers.

Shah also emphasized that in order to keep one step ahead of criminals, the nation must find answers to global issues including cybercrime, border security, illicit drone usage, drugs, and darknet abuse.

“The next several days will provide some difficulties for us. These issues affect the whole globe, not just India. India has to figure this out. We should be two steps ahead of individuals who violate the law in these five areas. Cybercrime, infiltration—technological border security—illicit drone use—its prevention and suppression, drugs and how contemporary technology may be utilized to investigate them and prevent darknet abuse,” he said.

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, visited the Dandi Kutir Museum earlier in the day and officially opened the Gandhinagar Philatelic Exhibition “Phila Vista 2024”.
