In India, JCB means bulldozer. Many people do not know that JCB is a company which manufactures many earth moving and construction machines like bulldozers. This is a thing of today, but do you know what JCB company used to make when it was started about 80 years ago?

If you think that JCB is an Indian company, then first of all know that it is a British company. However, its business in India is so big that it is one of its largest businesses and hubs outside Britain.

JCB company was started in 1945. It was started by Joseph Cyril Bamford and the company was named JCB by combining the first letters of his name. When the company started its business, it used to make agricultural tipping trailers i.e. trolleys to be fitted at the back of tractors.

The company did not stop here and continued innovating. Thus entered the earth moving equipment sector. The company had manufactured its first backhoe loader in 1952 itself. Common people know this machine as 'Bulldozer'.

How big is JCB's business?

Since JCB manufactured its first bulldozer in 1952, it has grown continuously and has become a global brand today. Today the company has more than 22 plants across the world and with more than 750 dealers, the company works to manufacture all types of earth moving equipment tools. However, it is identified only as a bulldozer and its biggest center in India is in Vallabhgarh near Delhi.

Bulldozer has been quite popular in India recently. Bulldozers are now being used in politics instead of commercial purposes. After Uttar Pradesh, it was used in many different states to do all the household work of the people. Recently, while hearing this, the Supreme Court has given strict orders to the state government.
