JCB company was started in 1945. It was started by Joseph Cyril Bamford and the company was named JCB by combining the first letters of his name. When the company started its business, it used to make agricultural tipping trailers i.e. trolleys to be fitted at the back of tractors.

However, it is identified only as a bulldozer and its biggest center in India is in Vallabhgarh near Delhi.
