A camera assistant died on the sets of Anupama serial on the evening of Thursday 15 November. In this matter, All Indian Cine Workers Association has held the production house of the serial responsible. On behalf of this association, a letter has been written to Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and in this letter they have demanded that an FIR be registered against Anupama's producer and production house under section 302 of the IPC and also against the deceased camera assistant. A compensation of Rs 1 crore should be given to the family members.
According to this letter, the camera assistant died due to electric shock at 9.30 pm on 15th November. The cause of death is careless use of equipment on the set. The surprising thing is that even after the death of a worker, the production continued its work till late night as if nothing had happened. Shooting continued the next day also. Neither did the production house bother to meet the family of the deceased worker, nor was any statement issued in this regard.

What are the demands of the association?
All Indian Cine Association believes that often old wires are connected with plastic tape on the sets of serials. Because of this, this place becomes a death trap for the workers working on the set. Even basic safety protocols are not followed here and due to this the problems of the workers working behind the cameras increase. In the letter written to Eknath Shinde, the association has put forth its 5 demands.
1 FIR should be lodged against Anupama's producer, production house, channel, managing director of Film City and labor commissioner.
A compensation of Rs 1 crore should be given to the family of 2 deceased workers.
3 Until there is a complete inquiry in this matter, the shooting of Anupama and all the serials of this production house should be banned.
4. Safety protocols should be checked on all sets of serials and where they are not being followed, strict action should be taken and fines should be imposed on them.
5 Action should be taken against all those who treated the death of a human being as mere garbage, so that in future no one treats the death of a human being as garbage.
