Third Global Women’s Forum opens in Dubai

H.H. Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the wife of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, as well as the President of the UAE Gender Balance Council (UAE GBC) and Dubai Women Establishment (DWE), conveyed profound gratitude to the UAE’s astute leadership for its unwavering support of women and dedication to enhancing their role in the country’s progress and future-building process.Eight years after its creation, the Global Women’s Forum is gathering in Dubai for its third edition with the goal of advancing gender balance and inspiring global initiatives to empower women.

This emphasizes the UAE’s unique standing in this field, which is emphasized by its impressive advancements in global competitiveness metrics. The UAE is still dedicated to building on these successes. It aims to achieve the greatest standards of excellence by highlighting the vital and significant role that women play in society.

H.H. Sheikha Manal emphasized that the UAE’s progressive leadership has made the nation a global leader in women’s empowerment and gender balance indices, moving it up to the top of the region and seventh overall in the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) 2024 Gender Equality Index. Through significant international collaborations that increase women’s chances to actively contribute to the development of sustainable societies, the UAE is dedicated to assisting worldwide initiatives to empower women in all spheres of life, she said.

Three theme pillars will guide the Forum’s talks, according to Mona Al Marri. “Future Economies, Future Societies” will look at how women contribute to economic growth and the creation of progressive communities.

Through the sharing of best practices and important insights, “Collective Engagements, Collective Actions” will address methods to create explicit frameworks to boost women’s economic and social engagement.

The theme “Impactful Technologies, Impactful Innovations” will consider the Forum’s strong emphasis on technology as a key component that propels advancement.

The third edition of the Global Women’s Forum – Dubai 2024, which will take place on November 26 and 27 at the Madinat Jumeirah under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, has an impressive agenda and a list of distinguished speakers and partners, according to the Government Dubai Media Office.

The Forum’s extensive schedule includes sessions that highlight the many aspects of women and their responsibilities in society, in accordance with the vision and strategic directions of H.H. Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Details of this important event were discussed by Mona Ghanem Al Marri, Chairperson of the Board and Managing Director of Dubai Women Establishment, and representatives from the Forum’s main partners: Amira Al Falasi, Vice President of Human Resources at Emirates Group (Official Carrier); Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Cultural Partner); Moaza Al Marri, Chief Executive Officer of Executive Affairs Sector at Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) (Mobility Partner); and Khawla Rashid Al Muhairi, Executive Vice President of Strategy and Government Communications at Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) (Strategic Partner).

The World Bank Group, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the United Nations Development Programme, the World Economic Forum, the Atlantic Council, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Initiative, and the International Finance Corporation are among the international partners for the Global Women’s Forum Dubai 2024, which Mona Al Marri announced during the press conference. Additionally, seminars on women’s economic empowerment, entrepreneurship, gender balance, and government policies will be invited by the international organizations.

In addition to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Emirates Airlines, ADNOC, Emirates Global Aluminium, e&, Cartier Women’s Initiative, and Mediclinic Middle East, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority is one of the local partners and sponsors.

More than 250 influential speakers, more than 25 regional and global ministers, representatives from international organizations, prominent youth figures, and renowned entrepreneurs will lead more than 130 sessions during the two days of the Forum, which will welcome participants from about 65 countries.
The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) Chairperson, H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, will be presenting engaging sessions where she will share her thoughts on cultural diplomacy and the influence of culture on creative communities.

H.H. Sheikha Hissa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum will discuss her passion, as well as the difficulties and motivations she has faced in the equestrian field, in a subsequent session.

The Forum’s keynote speakers, Saida Mirziyoyeva, assistant to the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Emine Erdogan, the First Lady of Turkiye and wife of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, will be held in the Arena Hall to further enhance the lineup of thought-provoking talks.

The Forum will highlight successful initiatives launched and supported by the UAE to promote gender balance, further highlighting the nation’s efforts to empower women both personally and professionally, in addition to providing a forum for knowledge exchange and showcasing global expertise and best practices.
