This is a new record for passengers traveling in Delhi Metro. Earlier on August 20 this year, 77.49 lakh people had traveled in the metro. The most important reason for the increase in the number of passengers in the metro is the increasing pollution in Delhi. Apart from this, restrictions have been imposed on vehicles up to Euro 3 for petrol and Euro 4 for diesel on the road. Due to this, a large number of small vehicles have been banned, due to which people are turning to the metro.
Apart from this, another reason for increase in the number of people traveling in metro is the strike of contract employees of DTC buses, due to which many buses are not running. In such a situation, metro is the only good option for people as public transport. These are the three important reasons, due to which 78 lakh people traveled by metro in a day. Metro has also made preparations for the convenience of its passengers.
Metro management said that they are making preparations to provide safe and convenient travel to the passengers and in view of the increasing crowd in the metro. For this, the metro used to make extra trips throughout the week. For quite some time now, she has been doing 60 extra rounds a day. Out of 78 lakh, the maximum number of 20 lakh 99 thousand people traveled on the Yellow Line from Gurugram to Samaypur Badli.
Along with this, Blue Line, from Vaishali to Noida, more than 20 lakh 80 thousand, Red Line, from Ghaziabad to Rithala, more than 8 lakh 56 thousand, Pink Line, from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar, more than 8 lakh 15 thousand, Violet Line, Kashmiri More than 7 lakh 93 thousand from Gate to Faridabad, Magenta Line, more than 6 lakh 19 thousand from Janakpuri West to Botanical Garden, More than 4 12 thousand people traveled on Green Line, from Kirti Nagar to Bahadurgarh, more than 50 thousand people traveled on Gray Line, from Dwarka to Dhansa Bus Stand, more than 81 thousand people traveled on Airport from New Delhi to Dwarka Sector 25.
