Jaipur: A strange situation arose on Monday in an Air India flight going from Paris to Delhi, when the pilot was forced to leave the flight after his duty time was over. Due to this incident, more than 180 passengers had to face trouble for 8 hours at Jaipur airport, and they were finally sent to Delhi by road.
This flight was Air India's AI-2022, which left Paris for Delhi at 10 pm on Sunday. The scheduled time of the flight was 10:35 AM, but due to bad weather, the plane could not land in Delhi. After this, on the instructions of Air Traffic Control (ATC), the pilot landed the flight in Jaipur, where he waited for clearance for the flight till noon.
When there was a delay in getting the clearance and the pilot's duty time was over, he abandoned the flight, leaving all the passengers on board waiting without any clear solution. The passengers started creating a ruckus at the airport and demanded an alternative flight, but no concrete action was taken by the airlines.
After waiting for 8 hours, some passengers decided to go to Delhi by their vehicles, while some other passengers were sent to Delhi by bus by the airlines. Although the airport authority arranged food and water for the passengers, their anger did not subside and they kept demanding an alternative flight. This incident once again highlights the lack of clear communication and effective arrangements between airlines and passengers, especially when passengers are faced with such unexpected situations.
