In the capital Delhi, from tomorrow i.e. 21st November, 50 percent government employees will work from home. Delhi government has taken this decision due to increasing pollution and implementation of GRAP-4. Except for the essential services of Delhi Government and MCD, all office employees will work with 50 percent capacity. Delhi government has also given instructions to private companies to run offices with 50 percent capacity.

Let us tell you that about 1.4 lakh people work in about 80 departments and various agencies of the Delhi government, including the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). Environment Minister Gopal Rai tweeted on Wednesday that in view of the level of pollution in Delhi, 50 percent of the employees of Delhi government offices will work from home. Gopal Rai also urged private companies, industries and businesses to implement similar measures to help reduce the city's air pollution crisis.

Companies should provide bus services for employees

Gopal Rai suggested that private companies should consider increasing the office timings between 10:30 am to 11:00 am in order to reduce vehicular congestion during peak hours. He said that adjusting office timings will not only reduce traffic pressure but will also curb pollution caused by vehicles. To deal with vehicular pollution, the government advised big companies to arrange bus services for their employees.

Today Delhi's AQI was recorded at 426.

Gopal Rai said that we are continuously working to reduce the level of pollution. The decision to work with 50 percent employees is part of this effort. We hope that the situation will improve in the coming days. Toxic air and pollution remained at its peak in Delhi on Wednesday also. AQI 426 was recorded in Delhi today, which is in severe category. Apart from this, last night the coldest night of this season so far was recorded in Delhi.
