A deal on the popular business reality TV show ‘Shark Tank Pakistan’ has created history by breaking the record for the biggest deal on any ‘Shark Tank Show’ in the world.
An investment deal of one and a half billion Pakistani rupees has been made in ‘Shark Tank Pakistan’, which is the biggest investment deal ever made in Shark Tank shows.
After Greenlight Studios acquired the rights of the ‘Shark Tank Franchise’, Pakistan has also started ‘Shark Tank Pakistan’ after India to highlight the talents of business minded people globally.
In a recent episode of the Shark Tank show, the deal is being claimed to be the biggest investment ever made by any of the Shark Tank shows around the world.
The investors, called sharks in the show, have signed a deal with a trading company called ‘Saraaf’ for one and a half billion rupees, which is around five million US dollars.
Before this deal in ‘Shark Tank Pakistan’, ‘Shark Tank America’ had set a record by dealing an investment of 2.5 million dollars.
Under this deal, the founding owners of ‘Saraaf Company’ raised 800 million Pakistani rupees in exchange for 20 percent business shares and 70 million rupees as a line of credit with 3 percent royalty.
Among the sharks (investors) on the show’s panel were entrepreneurs like Faisal Aftab, Rabil Waraich, Romana Dada, Junaid Iqbal and Usman Bashir who were impressed by Saraaf’s business model and growth potential, but the deal with Saraaf fell through.
Saraaf is a Pakistani company that has been operating in Pakistan for the past 25 years, importing and exporting precious stones ‘onyx’, cotton and minerals.
Saraaf’s mission is to become Asia’s largest business-to-business (B2B) sourcing platform, with the Shark Tank platform, the company wants to further expand its business.
The Shark Tank show debuted in Japan in 2001 as the Japanese program “Money’s Tigers” and was later adapted as “Dragon’s Den” (2005) in the UK and “Shark Tank” (2009) in the US.
Shark Tank is a unique business promotion program that aims to empower aspiring entrepreneurs to secure funding to pitch their business ideas to leading investors.
The first episode of ‘Shark Tank Pakistan’ was aired on 3rd November on the leading entertainment channel ‘Green Entertainment’.
